Illuminations

IN POST-PRODUCTION

ILLUMINATIONS is a contemplative portrait of avant-garde filmmakers Nathaniel Dorsky and Jerome Hiler, whose shared artistic and devotional practice has endured for more than sixty years. Working exclusively with silent 16mm film, their cinema offers a radically attentive way of seeing the world, asserting cinema’s potential to become a true wisdom form. From humble daily rituals and underground screenings in the 1960s to sold-out retrospectives at the Museum of Modern Art, the film traces a life devoted to healing through perception, light, and presence.
